Tesla Model 3 Performance Feature List Removes ‘Lowered Suspension’

Tesla has removed “lowered suspension” from its feature list associated with the Model 3 Performance, as pointed out on Friday by @Tesla_Adri.

The automaker used to list “lowered suspension” on the bottom of the Model 3 Performance’s feature list, which appeared below 20-inch Überturbine wheels, performance brakes, carbon fiber spoiler and aluminum alloy pedals.

Now, the aforementioned features are still included but “lowered suspension” is no longer there.

While some users speculated that the removal could be setting the stage for Tesla’s air suspension for the Model 3 and Model Y. Currently, air suspension is a feature reserved for Tesla’s premium and more expensive Model S and Model X vehicles.

Others speculated that it could have to do with supply issues, though given Tesla’s decent track record buying parts in advance to deal with global shortages, it seems unlikely.

In addition, one user pointed out that the pictures on Tesla’s Model 3 Performance order configurator still show the car with lowered suspension, so the removal could also mean nothing at all.

Currently, the Model Y Performance feature list still mentions ‘lowered suspension’.

Last year, one developer discovered images of the Model 3 and Model Y sporting air suspension hidden in Tesla’s firmware.

The icon for the air suspension feature was also teased in an update to the Model 3 owner’s manual early last year, suggesting that the feature may not be far off.
