Lucid Motors Confirms European Launch in 2022
Just a few months after the Lucid Air Dream Edition first delivered to customers, the California-based automaker and so-called Tesla rival said it plans to expand beyond North America sometime this year.
Lucid Motors announced plans to expand to the European market beginning this year, after being questioned by a hopeful prospective customer on Twitter on Tuesday reports CNBC.
When asked “Are they in the UK?” by another user, @Lucid Motors responded by saying “Expansion to European markets will begin this year.” The company also added, “Stay tuned for country-specific delivery information.”

On Lucid’s website, the Lucid Air Pure starts at a price of $77,400 USD, while the Air Touring variant starts at $95,000 USD and the premium Air Grand Touring starts at $139,000 USD.
The Dream Edition launch-only model of the Lucid Air cost first buyers of the vehicle a hefty $169,000 USD.
Last month, Lucid’s shares fell following its receipt of a Subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Still, some reviewers of the Lucid Air Dream Edition have called it a “Major Tesla Rival,” among other positive feedback.
In November, the freshly-released Lucid Air garnered Motortrend’s 2022 Car of the Year, an increasingly competitive category amidst a global transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
