On Monday evening, Tesla started a very limited rollout of its 2021 holiday software update, with numerous images shared by one 2019 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range owner on Reddit.
The 2021 holiday update includes a new Light Show for the Model 3 and Model Y, a new customized app launcher, simplified controls, a blind spot camera feature (finally!), the ability to edit waypoints, TikTok, Sonic the Hedgehog, multiplayer for The Battle of Polytopia, Sudoku, cold weather improvements, automatic seat heaters and more.
Here are a few more images of the new version 11 user interface, plus the settings screen and also the energy app, shared by Tesla owner ‘Emulsifide’ to the Tesla Discord server. The owner had first shared images of the 2021 holiday update to Discord, tried to upload to the Tesla subreddit next, but the latter was moderated (until his image gallery finally was approved).
As for other tidbits with the 2021 holiday software update? The tire pressure card is now moved into vehicle settings, and is no longer on the homescreen when you swipe left or right, says ‘Emulsifide’.
According to ‘Emulsifide’, the Model 3 owner is not sure why their vehicle received the 2021 holiday software update first.
The owner also said when Tesla’s 2021.24 dropped (with Disney+, etc.), they were also first to share images of it. Many speculated the vehicle was previously owned by a Tesla employee or something, because for now, nobody else has the 2021 holiday software update.
“You’re using a feature preview”, reads the message that showed up within the Tesla app owned by ‘Emulsified’. “This is a limited preview version for validation and testing. Check your Tesla email for feature details, and please share feedback or issues.” Then we see pictured is the charging history seen within the Tesla app, that was previously reported.
“I’m honestly not interested in finding out why I have updates before everyone else,” said ‘Emulsifide’ on Tuesday morning. “I’m just enjoying it and sharing the love,” added the Tesla owner.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company would likely roll out its 2021 holiday software update today. Lately, a wider rollout of 2021.44.6 seems to be happening, with the latter seemingly hinting at being a prerequisite before the holiday update arrives for 2021.
