Tesla Sold Over 54,000 China-Made Vehicles in October

As Tesla investors continue to increase their price targets on the company based largely on its performance in the Chinese auto market, the company is also bolstering its domestic and exported sales as produced by its Gigafactory Shanghai location, as shown by new sales figures.

Tesla sold a total of 54,391 units in China in October, up from its 56,006 units sold in September, according to @42how_. The figure includes 13,725 units sold domestically, alongside 40,666 units exported from the country to Europe and surrounding areas. Data is from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In September, Tesla’s deliveries hit record numbers in China with 56,006 units delivered, comprised of 52,153 units sold domestically with 3,853 vehicles exported from the company’s Gigafactory Shanghai.

The figures month-to-month also depict how Tesla’s quarters ebb and flow between exported and domestic deliveries, though this is the fullest degree we’ve seen it depicted as of yet.

We can see by the decrease in domestic sales in China and the significant increase in exported sales that Tesla focuses its beginning and mid-quarters on domestic sales, while exports are bolstered near each quarter’s end.

In addition, Tesla’s high domestic demand in September was evidenced by Tesla Model Y backups in cities across China, depicting an overwhelming demand for the electric SUV within mainland China – let alone the nearby countries it’s exporting to.
