Hertz Tesla Rentals Start November 1 with Free Supercharging Promo
Hertz is set to launch its Tesla Model 3 rental fleet on November 1, 2021. Ahead of the debut, the company has emailed prospective customers about Tesla Model 3 vehicles being available to rent in November, which will come with a free Supercharging promo.
Last week, Hertz announced had placed an order for 100,000 Tesla Model 3 vehicles, expected to deliver by the end of 2022. The company also announced a deal to rent out half of its Tesla fleet to Uber drivers; both deals are being called ground-breaking announcements to fast-track the transition to sustainable energy and also offer free marketing for Tesla vehicles.
“It’s you season – the season to shift from no time to go time with seamless, personalized travel, from cruising to a conference in an EV to sneaking away to the slopes in an SUV, go wherever the road may lead in any car you choose Work. Play. Seize the day. Let’s go!,” explains the Hertz email (via Reddit), sent to an email lead in Florida.
The email says from November 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022, bookings will “enjoy charging on us” when you “charge at Tesla network chargers”.
“Experience a greener way to travel in the future-focused, zero-emissions Model 3,” explains Hertz.
Hertz also recently launched a website dedicated to Tesla, describing the company as “makers of the world’s best-selling plug-in electric-powered car.”
“Our flagship EV is the Tesla Model 3, a luxurious 4-door sedan that features up to 260-mile driving range on a full charge and is the best-selling electric car in the world,” explains Hertz.
Rental prices for a Tesla Model 3 from Hertz varies, but so far people are seeing about $135-$145 USD per day, which is at better prices than some rentals found on Turo.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said existing customer key cards will work with Hertz rentals at some point. He also clarified Hertz paid full price for its Tesla purchase, as no discounts were offered.
