First Look: Tesla App Lets You Talk Through Car Speaker with Robot Voice [VIDEO]

Tesla released its 2021.36.8 software update tonight, which features live camera view for Sentry Mode from the company’s iPhone app.
The update also lets you talk through your Pedestrian Warning Speaker, to scare would-be thieves or just for a prank. Check out the first look from @dezmondOliver below. The Tesla app will also change your voice to sound like a robot–this is so cool:
Here is an example of the new @Tesla sentry mode app feature. It changes your voice too. I can’t wait to talk to people as they walk by! Thank you @elonmusk! pic.twitter.com/lexqyjweAk

If you’ve received the 2021.36.8 software update, you need to enable the “View Live Camera via Mobile App” setting, by going to Safety & Security, then scrolling down to the Sentry Mode section.
I had to flip that on. Then you can get to Security/Sentry live view. Make sure it was the 36.8 update. pic.twitter.com/vRN7bViukU

The ability to talk through your Tesla’s speaker is going to make for one heck of a Halloween for kids (and adults).
Again, this feature will only work if your Tesla is a newer version that can support Boombox and has an external speaker.
