Tesla Removes Wood Trim Interior Option for Model S Plaid
Tesla has quietly removed the wood trim option for its Model S Plaid electric sedan (via Reddit). The wood trim option was added back in May 2021.
The Model S Plaid currently comes with a standard black interior with carbon fiber décor. Previously, a walnut décor was available for Plaid interiors of black/white and cream, but now, carbon fiber is the only option available for all three interior colour options.
The Model S Long Range still retains the walnut décor option for black/white and cream interior upgrades, which cost $2,000 USD extra.
When Tesla launched the Model S Plaid, the only trim made available was carbon fiber, but eventually, walnut décor was offered shortly afterwards, in what some believe may have been due to supply chain shortages on carbon fiber.
The changes to Model S Plaid now have the latter match interior options for the Model X Plaid. Tesla delivered its first Model X refresh vehicles yesterday in California.
Tesla’s Model S Plaid starts at $129,990 USD and currently has estimated delivery dates of December 2021.
