Tesla Sees 100x More Daily Job Applicants After AI Day
On Friday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reiterated an infographic detailing the massive influx of applications to Artificial Intelligence (AI) software and hardware teams at the company that followed its AI Day event back in August. The slide was from the company’s 2021 shareholder meeting slide deck.
According to the infographic, Tesla saw 100x more applicants for positions in its AI division that week compared to the one before.

Along with the infographic, Musk also urged the masses to “please consider joining Tesla AI software or hardware teams.” Tesla is at the forefront of autonomous driving software development, and still has a long way to go.
The company is also working on other AI products, like the Dojo supercomputer powered by its in-house D1 Chip, and the ‘Tesla Bot’.
The company will soon expand its Full Self-Driving beta to public testers, giving it even more data to work off of. As the amount of real world data Tesla has grows, so will the need for professionals who can translate that raw data into meaningful developmental progress.
In a follow-up tweet, Musk apologized to applicants who had not heard back from Tesla, and said that an application need not be anything more than “evidence of exceptional ability in a few bullet points.” Tesla is looking for talent and expertise for its AI teams, nothing more.
If you’d like to join Tesla AI, but can’t easily move to Palo Alto or Austin, that is acceptable for extremely excellent candidates where inefficiency of distance is overcome by talent

Musk also added that Tesla will offer remote work to “extremely excellent candidates” whose talent can overcome the “inefficiency of distance”.
