Support SpaceX’s Starship Project by Commenting to the FAA, Says Elon Musk
In a recent tweet, SpaceX CEO and celebrated visionary Elon Musk asked his supporters and the public to “please add” their voice to the comments (open to everyone) on the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) for SpaceX’s proposed Starship/Super Heavy project in Boca Chica, Texas.
The space exploration pioneer said that support in the matter would be “greatly appreciated”. “Humanity’s future on the moon, Mars & beyond depends upon it,” added Musk.
Please add your voice to the public comments. Support is greatly appreciated!

Last month, SpaceX successfully stacked its Starship space vehicle atop its Super Heavy booster rocket, named Booster B4, for the very first time ahead of a planned orbital flight. However, before SpaceX can actually launch its Starship/Super Heavy vehicle, the company needs to obtain experimental permit(s) and/or a vehicle operator license from the FAA’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation.
Before the FAA approves permits and licenses for SpaceX, it must evaluate the rocket company’s proposal on a number of different fronts — the Draft PEA covers the potential environmental impacts of SpaceX’s Starship/Super Heavy launch operations from the Boca Chica Launch Site in Cameron County, Texas.
The FAA has opened the Draft PEA for public comment until October 18, with anyone and everyone invited to voice their opinion on the matter. The regulator also plans on holding virtual public hearings on October 6 and October 7 to discuss the matter with stakeholders and the public, as part of the 30-day public comment period that ends on October 18, 2021.
