Tesla Model 3/Y to Get Updated User Interface with FSD Wide Release
After reports that Tesla’s coveted Full Self-Driving beta 9 would be “shipping soon,” Tesla CEO Elon Musk now says the software will also upgrade the user interface (UI) for Model 3 and Y units with a software update.
In response to questions about new UI for Tesla’s Model 3 and Y units, Elon Musk said on Monday that the Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta 9 release will come with a “mind of car” view, and that all Model 3 and Y units will be able to upgrade to the FSD computer.
After an updated user interface debuted on the Model S Plaid, it now appears the latter will also be available on the Model 3 and Model Y.
Yes, updated UI coming with FSD wide release. All cars with FSD computer will have new “mind of car” view. All 3/Y can be upgraded to have FSD computer.

The comments came months after Musk’s early statements saying the software would become available in apparently two weeks. Still, the long-awaited update will offer Tesla Vision, the company’s camera-sensing-only FSD technology – following reports that Tesla started producing cars without any radar in May.
Last Saturday, Musk said Tesla FSD 9 is “shipping soon,” with added comments that “generalized self-driving is a hard problem, as it requires solving a large part of real-world AI.”
