Tesla’s Supercharging Team Launches Official Twitter Account
Over the past couple of weeks, many have noticed a new Twitter account @TeslaCharging tweet out new Supercharger sites, like clockwork.
The profile says it is the “official Twitter account for Tesla Charging. New Supercharger sites, announcements and all things charging.”
It’s been unclear if this was an official Twitter account from Elon Musk’s company or an unaffiliated third party, but Tesla North has learned the account is indeed an official account from Tesla, according to sources familiar with the matter.
New Tesla Supercharger: Brentwood, CA (16 stalls) https://t.co/H0H80xk1is
— Tesla Charging (@TeslaCharging) April 13, 2021
While the account was created in January 2021, the first tweet from @TeslaCharging was only sent out on March 26, 2021, sharing a link to the new Tesla Supercharger in Taipei, Taiwan. The account’s tweets share the name, location and number of charging stalls for each Supercharger site, and a photo of the site, if available. The account has not been verified by Twitter yet, but neither have other accounts from Tesla, such as the one from the Tesla China team.
The in past 24 hours, the number of followers of @TeslaCharging has more than doubled, and growth may be exponential moving forward.
While the @TeslaCharging Twitter account may not replace the other excellent resource on the web, Supercharge.info, it’s great to now see an official source of Supercharger information coming directly from Tesla.
