Canadian Man Hopes to Trade Up to a Tesla Cybertruck From a Deck of Cards

Tesla’s Cybertruck is set to release later this year, and hopefully by that time, Saskatchewan resident Tyler Golding will be ready to get his own, albeit in a rather unconventional way.

The Warman, Saskatchewan resident has been working for three months to trade his way up from a deck of cards, all the way to a Tesla Cybertruck (via Global News).

Through online trades and some buying and selling, the man who started as a magician with just a deck of cards hopes he can turn his cards into a Tesla Cybertruck, in one of the most interesting magic tricks of all.

“Doubled my investment,” Golding told reporters, laughing as it came out of his mouth.

So far, Golding has managed to trade for a fat bike, an iMac, an Xbox One, and two PlayStation 5 consoles, but he still has quite a ways to go. As Global News interviewed Golding, his most recent PS5 showed up on the doorstep – timely, to say the least.

Tesla’s Cybertruck will cost upwards of $50,000 (CAD), but even as Golding holds out for his next big move, a $3,000 motorized scooter, he’s holding on to a number of knick-knacks which are either pretty valuable or downright tough to get rid of, including a rare Pokemon card, a gold chain, and the less-valuable bag full of Beanie Babies.

His model follows that of fellow Canadian, Kyle MacDonald, who in 2006 traded up from a red paper clip into a house, in Kipling, Saskatchewan.

Each trade is shared on Golding’s YouTube channel, so eager onlookers can follow along with the journey and learn from his resourcefulness.

Whether he makes it to the Cybertruck or not, it’s already been worthwhile, and he’s just getting started.
