Canada is set to get a new Tesla store in London, Ontario, nine months after the electric vehicle maker launched a new Supercharger in the city. It would be the eighth Tesla sales centre in Ontario.
According to The London Free Press, Tesla acquired the 1.5-acre site at 600 Oxford Street, home to a former Porsche dealership. The site has a main building that is nearly 13,000 square-feet, along with a service area building at just over 4,000 square-feet.
The move means Tesla owners in London will no longer need to commute over an hour one way to Kitchener, when they need to deal with larger service concerns.
Don Millar, president of the London Electric Vehicle Association said, “This is great new. I’m really happy,” adding, “This will help in the adoption of electric vehicles. This will put pressure on car dealers in London to sell more electric vehicles here.”
The London Supercharger is located at 4350 Wellington Road, about 14 kilometers away from the upcoming Tesla sales centre.
