As countries around the world scramble to make way for the future of electric vehicles (EVs), new charging stations are being built and opened every single week.

This week, the first Tesla V3 Supercharger in Austria is now fully operational, according to user ‘Stoner97’ on the TFF forums.

Located in Frunpark Asten, the charging site includes 12 separate charging stalls for Tesla drivers. While the Superchargers are an exciting addition for Tesla owners, Tesla’s Supercharging network is currently only available to Tesla owners, so EV owners of other brands won’t be able to use the new stalls. But that is already changing according to Elon Musk recently.

The location for this Supercharger is at Handelsring 7, Asten 4481, and has 12 stalls capable of 250 kW charging rates, notes Supercharge.info.

It was recently announced that Tesla would begin manufacturing Superchargers out of a new factory in China, according to a filing with the Chinese government. The new factory is set to begin production in early 2021, and will be capable of producing up to 10,000 Superchargers per year, indicating a major improvement to-come for the charging networks in most countries.

As the world continues to transition from traditional gas cars to EVs, charging stations will remain one of the most significant pieces to the puzzle. Most countries drastically need upgrades to their own charging networks, and they’re likely to continue receiving them over the course of the next decade, at least.
