Tesla Increases Model 3 Component Orders from Pegatron for Q4: Report
Chalk this up as yet another sign Tesla demand is alive and well, as the latest report says the company has placed more component orders for its vehicles.
Pegatron, the electronics company responsible for building Tesla’s EV central control system, has seen an uptick in Tesla orders in 2020’s fourth quarter, as reported by Digitimes. The Taiwanese company is also exploring building factories in the US to better serve Tesla’s supply chain needs cites unnamed sources, a further indicator Tesla is preparing for a stellar year in 2021.

2021 is already set to be an exciting year for Tesla, with the expected completion of its Gigafactories in Berlin, Germany and Austin, Texas, as well as the likely delivery of the highly-anticipated Cybertruck, Tesla’s first truck.
Some analysts have even predicted the company will sell as many as a million vehicles in 2021, and even if they don’t, they’ll have to smash some records to get anywhere close.
A previous report cited Tesla asking battery cell supplier LG Chem to also increase production due to high demand in China.
At the very least, Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes that the company’s EV deliveries will grow 30-40% year over year in 2021, which is saying a lot given how well the company has done this year. In any case, increased Pegatron orders will result in increased Tesla production – an important move as world demand for EVs continues to increase.
