Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta Internal Settings Discovered by Hacker
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta has been out for a few months now, and while it’s been fun to see it perform driverless routes on the internet, it’s easy to forget how much actually goes into the technology.
On Tuesday, hacker @greentheonly set out to share just that information, showing a megathread of tweets depicting the Tesla Full Self-Driving internal settings (via Reddit).
Among the settings are boxes with specific directives for the software, like “enable stopping for crosswalks,” “enable city streets behaviors,” and “use vehicle semantics for role assign,” among countless others. As @greentheonly puts it, there are “so many settings [it’ll] take you several minutes to even read them.”
The thread also shows footage of the FSD driving screen with the setting and command source code is displayed while driving. While it’s a little tough to tell what commands are actually doing what, the original poster corresponds with some Twitter users commenting to share some specifics.
If Tesla was a REAL software company, after you press that "YES" dialog button about "This is beta, blah blah, I understand what I am doing and will keep both pieces if it breaks" setting windows become accessible pic.twitter.com/TXJchWL0eZ

While it’s unclear exactly how @greentheonly hacked into the FSD settings menu, it’s pretty exciting to see them all laid out next to each other. And it confirms one thing we already knew – Tesla’s Full Self-Driving beta is one complex system.
Tesla’s FSD beta is currently only available in the United States, but Elon Musk recently confirmed the beta is likely coming to Canada this month.
