Tesla says its customers in California can “save on Supercharging this weekend.”
In a notice sent to customers, Tesla explains, “planning to travel this weekend? Avoid the rush and charge for $0.09/kWh before 9AM and after 9PM at select California Superchargers on October 31 and November 1.”
“This weekend, tap the Supercharger map pin from your in-car touchscreen to find a participating location or view charge rates,” explains the note (via Reddit).
This weekend is Halloween so it’s not a major holiday or anything, but it is clear Tesla wants it owners to charge at off-peak hours at its Superchargers to reap some savings.
Superchargers in California usually are busy during peak periods such as holidays, so Tesla may be trying to test how this off-peak charging perk will work, ahead of the U.S. Thanksgiving weekend in November.
Tesla plans to expand its Superchargers in California, especially at the L.A. Metro, where over 200 V3 chargers are slated for 2021.
