Tesla Owner Plays Super Mario Bros in Car with Wireless Controller

With Tesla’s recent announcement of what appears to be a game studio in the making, Tesla fans have already announced enthusiasm for playing video games in their cars.

In a post on Reddit Sunday morning, a Tesla driver shared a video of himself playing Super Mario Brothers in his Tesla. The video, originally shared by Reddit user u/oddsie on the Tesla Motors subreddit, depicts the owner playing the retro game through the emulation website ABetterTheater.com.

While emulation games are fun, and allow the user to play a whole slew of retro games, it’ll also be exciting to see a line of dedicated games for Tesla. CEO Elon Musk has said on Twitter said the company is porting game engines Unity and Unreal Engine to the system, and has also made mention of using the touchscreen, steering wheel buttons, or Xbox and Playstation controllers for the system.

A number of job listings have already been shared on Tesla’s website for the upcoming game development team. These include video game engineer, software engineer, and a rendering engineer, all planned to be based out of the company’s Austin Terrafactory.

In any case, the idea of playing games in your car while you wait for it to finish charging is a spectacular one – and fortunately, it’s now just within reach.
