Tesla Model 3 Heated Steering Wheel in Refresh Confirmed Plus More According to Hacker
Tesla hacker @greentheonly is well-known for being able to unearth tidbits about the electric vehicle maker’s future updates and product plans.
This afternoon @greentheonly detailed new changes coming to Model Y, plus also how Tesla has plans to use new 4D radar tech from Israeli firm Arbe Robotics.
The hacker has also ‘confirmed’ findings pertaining to the latest Model 3 refresh, and here’s what was discovered for Model 3:
- New interior “including the top console that nobody noted somehow”
- Heated steering wheel
- 2021 Efficiency Package
- Standard Range Plus configuration for Shanghai coming in Q4 (possibly with LiFe batteries)
- Heated radar
- USB-C in glove box
- Powered life gate
- 18-inch pinwheels with updated caps
- 19-inch stiletto wheels
- 20-inch Uberturbine wheels
- 19-inch ZeroG wheels
- Option of chrome delete (“satin black”)
- New headlights and tail lights in “Global” type; in addition to North America, China and European versions
- Native wireless phone charger
All the Model3 refresh stuff: new interior (including the top console that nobody noted somehow), heated steering wheel, efficiency package M3 2021 and M3 SR+ 2020Q4 Shanghai (this one is believed to be LiFe batteries?), heated radar, usb-c in glove box, powered liftgate

Model 3 and Model Y may also have standard/adaptive air suspension in the works, says @greentheonly.
The key takeaways from @greentheonly’s list from the Model 3 refresh is the confirmation of the heated steering wheel (it still may not be enabled, we will have to wait to see), a new “top console”, and the addition of chrome delete as an option. A heated steering wheel would be a much-welcomed addition for those living in states with cold winters, plus Model 3 owners in Canada.
When Model 3 refresh deliveries take place, we’ll find out soon enough just exactly what Tesla has been hiding from customers in its latest update for its popular electric sedan.
