Free Tesla Premium Connectivity is for ‘Lifetime of Ownership’ and ‘Gesture of Goodwill’ Claims Email

After select Tesla Model 3 owners in Canada started to notice free Premium Connectivity added to their accounts on the weekend, more information has surfaced on the details of this freebie.

According to Yaz D. from the Tesla Model 3 Vancouver, B.C. group on Facebook (via @somi_teslagirl), a screenshot received from a friend claims to be a response from Tesla regarding free Premium Connectivity:

“I wanted to follow up with you in regards to your call on Friday concerning Premium Connectivity,” reads the email.

“We have granted Premium Connectivity to a limited population of owners. This is for the lifetime of their ownership and a gesture of goodwill,” explains the apparent Tesla email.

“If your car was not granted Premium Connectivity, it is not included in this limited population. If you would like to maintain or activate Premium Connectivity, you can subscribe from your Tesla Account.”

The email concludes by asking the owner to visit Tesla’s Connectivity support page to get more information and FAQ on the feature.

The free Premium Connectivity from Tesla appears to be targeting a small subset of 2019 Model 3 owners in Canada. You can check your account to see if the freebie has been applied from Tesla.

Tesla ended free trials of Premium Connectivity in Canada back in May. The subscription package offers additional services such as an internet browser, life traffic visualization, video streaming, satellite-view maps, karaoke and music streaming service, at the cost of $13.99 CAD per month ($9.99/month in the United States).
