As promised, Tesla will rollout its Full Self-Driving beta tonight, confirmed CEO Elon Musk.
“FSD beta rollout happening tonight. Will be extremely slow & cautious, as it should,” said Musk on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
Eight days ago, Musk announced the rollout of FSD would take place on October 20, 2020. The CEO said the release would be for “people who are expert & careful drivers.” He did not specify how many Tesla owners or what the criteria would be to get access to FSD beta.
Musk has previously stated the FSD beta rewrite coming tonight would allow for a Tesla to drive from one destination to another, without any driver interventions. It remains unclear as to the extent of the capabilities of FSD.
The rollout of FSD tonight takes place ahead of Tesla’s Q3 earnings call, set for Wednesday.
