How to Watch Tesla’s Battery Day Livestream Event on Sept. 22 [VIDEO]
Tesla is set to kick off its highly-anticipated Battery Day event, set for Tuesday, September 22, 2020, taking place after its annual shareholder meeting, Fremont, California.
The company’s annual shareholder meeting will be livestreamed, along with the Battery Day event right afterwards, set to start at 1:30PM PT/4:30PM ET.
CEO Elon Musk tempered expectations for the event, by sharing more details on Monday afternoon.
“Important note about Tesla Battery Day unveil tomorrow. This affects long-term production, especially Semi, Cybertruck & Roadster, but what we announce will not reach serious high-volume production until 2022,” said Musk on Twitter.
“We intend to increase, not reduce battery cell purchases from Panasonic, LG & CATL (possibly other partners too). However, even with our cell suppliers going at maximum speed, we still foresee significant shortages in 2022 & beyond unless we also take action ourselves,” added the Tesla CEO.
If Tesla can indeed manufacture its own battery cells, which are more efficient and affordable than what the market currently offers, it will keep both customers and Wall Street happy. Could we see the debut of a million-mile battery pack for a Tesla?
Let’s wait and see what Tesla will announce on Battery Day. Stay tuned to Tesla North for full coverage of the event.
