Tesla Model Y Deliveries Begin in Mexico, Completing North American Rollout

Tesla Model Y deliveries have begun ahead of schedule, as reported by Tesmanian. Worldwide, Tesla has already sold around 30,000 copies of the Model Y, marking it the 3rd best-selling car in the world in the month of July.

While Tesla’s electric crossover had only been delivered in the US and Canada prior to this, the company announced in July it would begin delivering its Model Y around Mexico in 8 to 10 weeks. A few weeks ahead of schedule, customers in Mexico are now receiving their copies of the Model Y.

Although the Gigafactory in Shanghai has already started building Model Y test vehicles, deliveries of the Tesla crossover in Asia will not begin until the Shanghai factory officially starts production. Similarly, Giga Berlin will soon deliver the Model Y across Europe, though the factory needs to be finished entirely first.

With the addition of Mexico, the Model Y is now available all across North America. Some have said that the Model Y may become the most sought-after vehicle in the world, especially riding on the back of an incredibly successful 2020 for the electric vehicle company.

When the Model Y does finally go worldwide, we can also look forward to the announcements of the Cybertruck, and probably a whole slew of exciting news around which Tesla has been scheming.
