That New Tesla Dating App is Not Real and Just Parody Says Creator
Finding love in the modern age is difficult, especially if your standards demand that both parties own an electric vehicle (EV). However, some Tesla owners may have this exact demand, and some who do have already started trying to find soulmates with the same taste in cars.
As reported by The Verge, a new joke dating app called TeslaDating.co has many news outlets laughing, crying, and… well, taking it way too seriously.

In an email to The Verge, app founder and Canadian developer Ajitpal Grewal said “The intention with the site starting out was parody, which I let everyone know. But, I did also say that if I see enough traction I would consider taking the app to launch.” Grewal continued, “So far I’ve been seeing quite a bit of traction.”
Tesla and Elon Musk are no strangers to the art of the joke; the almost cult-like following of the EV company and its CEO has almost developed a sense of humor of its own surrounding Musk’s erratic and playful Tweets and public statements.
While Grewal didn’t exactly make it clear to news outlets that the app was a joke – he was quoted by The Wall Street Journal saying that Tesla ownership becomes a big part of a person’s identity – he did make it clear that he, himself, does not own a Tesla but prefers his “zero-emissions bike.”
A major dealbreaker? Perhaps on his own platform, yes, but Grewal’s joke dating app may become something more than just a joke in the near future if it keeps getting this kind of attention.
