Tesla CEO Elon Musk Denies Ethereum Collaboration Rumors
Elon Musk admitted last year that he owns a small amount of Bitcoin, and there have been hopes in the cryptocurrency community that he would embrace both blockchain and Bitcoin ever since. Musk had praised the concept of cryptocurrencies afterwards, and he once simply tweeted the word “Ethereum.” The Tesla and SpaceX CEO made this tweet over a year ago, in April 2019, and it received over 10,000 retweets and 100,000 likes.

However, it appears as though Musk has made a decision to state publicly yesterday that he doesn’t have anything to do with Ethereum (ETH). He stated diplomatically that he was “not for it or against it”, but wanted to make it clear that he “doesn’t use it” or own any Ethereum.
I’m not building anything on ethereum. Not for or against it, just don’t use it or own any.

One strange aspect about Musk’s tweet is that he is responding to a tweet by William Shatner. Shatner, a TV actor famous for his role on Star Trek, claimed last year that Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, and Elon Musk, were planning on building something on Ethereum but could not reach an agreement. It is unclear why Musk chose to respond to that tweet, in particular, at this time.
