Congressman Williams of Texas Reports on Tesla Factory Possibility [VIDEO]
Texas, Oklahoma, or somewhere else? It’s the question that’s been plaguing electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc. and onlookers for the past few months. Where will the company’s next factory be located? While there are several reasons to point to Texas, other cities remain in the running. Tulsa, Oklahoma, for example, continues to produce campaigns designed to lure the company into the city. But with so many tax incentives on the table in Texas, Travis County looks more likely each day. In a new video from Fox Business, Texas Congressman Roger Williams weighs in on the possibility of a new Tesla factory coming to the Lone Star State.
As a representative of Travis County, Williams speaks to the lengthy negotiation process going on. The factory aims to bring 5,000 jobs to the county. As such, some in-depth considerations must be into place from the start. County officials and state officials alike are working to strike a deal that benefits both entities.
Williams also further expands upon some of the tax breaks that were mentioned a few weeks ago. If some counties aren’t willing to maintain their original offers, William posits, this could pose a problem as other locations are certainly eager for a new Tesla factory.
