Tesla continues their march toward modifying the world’s transportation to favor sustainable approaches. The company’s CEO Elon Musk has a few companies. In addition to his ventures with SpaceX, Musk also owns and operates The Boring Company. The Boring Company works to provide urban transportation solutions. One of their most notable projects involves building a tunnel beneath Los Angeles to decrease the city’s traffic. A new announcement shows that Tesla and The Boring Company will work together to make a van fit for the Boring Company’s tunnels.

The Boring Company recently took a proposal to vote in San Bernadino County. On Thursday, the local transportation agency there voted on the company’s proposal. The project aims to create a high speed tunnel connecting Rancho Cucamonga to Ontario National Airport. In tandem with the project, Musk and his team proposed the creation of a 12 seat van that fits perfectly inside the tunnel.

As CNET reports, “San Bernardino County Supervisor Curt Hagman told reporters after the vote that the proposal initially called for regular Tesla vehicles to run in the tunnels, but he then added that both of Musk’s companies are working on the large van. Besides room for 12 passengers, it will also fit luggage and travel at 127 mph.”
