Tesla Games Gets a Makeover With Latest Software Update
Tesla’s latest software update 2020.16.2.1 brings some excellent features to drivers’ fingertips. Of course the update brings some practical changes, such as the ability to refine Supercharger station searches. An undocumented change including pedestrian animations also showcases Tesla’s robust vehicle awareness systems. However, the update also beefs up some of the software’s entertainment offerings with some new games and options on the touchscreen.
A report from Electrek delves into the Fallout Shelter release packaged with the new update. As a popular mobile game from Bethesda Studios, Fallout Shelter presents an immersive gaming experience accessible once a Tesla vehicle is parked. Similar to some other mobile games, drivers make use of the vehicle’s touchscreen to play the game. At this point, the game lacks support for an external controller.
The update also brings some new features to the TRAX app. TRAX allows drivers to create their own music in their vehicle. Tesla’s release notes state, “We have added a piano roll view that allows you to edit and fine-tune notes on a track. You can now tap in view to create a note, move or resize it by dragging the tail end of a note, and delete it with a long press.” These entertainment-based upgrades continue to create a diverse software environment for Tesla electric vehicles.
