Munro Live concludes their thorough Model Y tear down video series with an excellent summary of some of the series’ main points. The videos provided one of the most in depth looks at the Tesla Model Y to date. Munro Live summarizes their findings and provides viewers with some updates on their plans for the future.
The video begins by inspecting Tesla’s “continuous improvement” process that’s evident in the Model Y. Rather than implementing solutions on a rigid timeline, Tesla attacks problems with their vehicles as soon as they notice them. Munro Live classifies the Model Y as a “wake up call” for other manufacturers.
The video then applies this take to the construction of the Model Y’s mega casting. Munro points out smaller cast nodes spanning the “the full width of the body” as a milestone of innovation.
The video explores some of the wiring techniques discussed in episode 17 of the series. The wiring reveals an efficient build in terms of bundle size and packaging. However, as Munro points out, the wiring remains conventional when compared to some of the lofty talk Tesla proposed prior to the Model Y launch.
Munro continues with an exploration of the vehicle’s octovalve, chips, and seat assembly. Be sure to check out Munro Live’s YouTube channel for new updates on everything Tesla.
