Elon Musk Proposes New Format for Upcoming Battery Day

In the world of electric vehicles, Tesla’s batteries represent state of the art innovation. As such, fans all over the world are excited for Tesla’s Battery Day. The event plans to unveil some of Tesla’s latest battery discoveries, including talk of future ideas. It’s quite a hyped up day, as CEO Elon Musk even called it the most exciting day in the company’s history. However, the event has been postponed a few times now. In a recent tweet from Musk, it looks like Tesla is reconsidering their Battery Day approach altogether.
As sources at Electrek report, Musk first addressed the rescheduled date in Tesla’s Q1 earnings call. As Musk said, “Yes. Actually, we don’t want to preempt Battery Day. We want to leave the exciting news for that day, but there will be a lot of exciting news to tell. And I think it would be one of the most exciting days in Tesla’s history and we’re just trying to figure out the right timing for that.”
In a tweet on May 15th, Musk pondered a new format for Battery Day. He confirmed the date to be pushed back until sometime in June. He also speculated on a multi-part event including both online and in person events. “We’re going to have to push out the date or attendance will be very low. Maybe do in two parts: webcast next month & in-person event a few months later?”
