Wichita, Kansas Offers Bid for Tesla Cybertruck Factory
The location for the new Tesla Cybertruck factory has yet to be determined. In a series of bids ranging from sincere to humorous, many cities across the United States continue to vie for the attention of the electric vehicle manufacturer. In a recent bid, developers in Wichita, Kansas throw their offer onto the pile.
According to sources at The Wichita Eagle, “The Greater Wichita Partnership tagged Tesla and Musk, the company’s CEO, in a tweet on Monday marketing the Wichita area for the electric pickup factory.” The tweet cites a few major selling points for Wichita. “The most geocentric metro in the nation, 800-acre site with access to two Class I railways and the #1 manufacturing-skilled workforce in the nation. A @Tesla Cybertruck Gigafactory location can’t get any better than this, @Elonmusk”

But the city’s creative bid doesn’t end with a mere suggestion on Twitter. A vintage infomercial style YouTube video sees miniature Cybertruck toys barreling over the Kansas landscape. The video boasts ample acreage, ready infrastructure, and access to two class 1 railroads. The video also throws in some novelty appeals, such as great ice cream. They end with highlighting the city’s passion for space, suggesting a possible allure for SpaceX.
