Canadian Tesla Model Y Deliveries are Still on Schedule for Mid-2020

The coronavirus outbreak in North America and elsewhere has certainly affected Tesla Inc.’s production capacities. Earlier in March, the electric vehicle manufacturer had to shut down its production facility in Fremont, California. They also furloughed a substantial number of contractors in Nevada. However, for Canadian buyers of the Tesla Model Y, it looks as though the company still is ensuring deliveries in mid-2020.

Some Canadians who ordered the electric sport utility vehicle reported good news. One such example comes from a Facebook post from Vancouver resident Nick Lewis. Lewis reported a positive call from a local Tesla adviser working on his order. In the call, the adviser tried to determine if Lewis was still prepared to receive the order once factories go back online.

Lewis had this to say about the call: “Did anyone else get a call from Tesla? My Advisor called to confirm that when the factory is up and running, I am ready to take possession. They are going through the list one by one to prioritize who is ready to go, and who isn’t quite ready for the car.”

Other Tesla service centres in Oakville and Toronto in Ontario have also been contacting Model Y owners, asking if they were ready to take orders when ready or would be postponing.

While the coronavirus presents some uncertainty for Tesla buyers, the company is doing everything it can to deliver Canadian orders on time. As we saw with the launch in the United States, Tesla stayed ahead of schedule.
