More Hospitals Receive Tesla Ventilator Donations

The coronavirus pandemic continues to overwhelm healthcare systems in the United States and elsewhere. As promised earlier in April, electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Inc. has begun delivering ventilators and other personal protective equipment to hospitals in need in New York City and elsewhere. The company has even rolled out a video showcasing its own Tesla ventilator design process.
Now, in the past week, more healthcare facilities have reported receiving ventilators from Tesla. While there were some early misunderstandings about the types of ventilators being donated, the issue seems to have been resolved. In providing information about the donations, Tesla CEO Elon Musk clarified some details on the ventilators, and even included a list of hospitals receiving donations.
According to a source at Bloomberg, “Northwestern Medicine in Illinois also received machines from Tesla, and a spokesman said they supported the hospital’s ability to care for patients. Sonoma Valley Hospital in California received six continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, machines from Musk. A hospital spokeswoman said the facility was very grateful for the gift.”
Tesla’s donations continue to roll out to hospitals in need. Whether hospitals are short on life-saving machines or less intensive machines, Tesla has certainly backed up its initial statements to follow through on donations.
