Tesla’s online store is now listing a roof rack as available for purchase for its Model Y compact SUV, priced at $450 USD.

The Model Y Roof Rack was designed and engineered from the ground up for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, minimal interior noise and impact to range. The ultra-sleek attachment mechanism makes for easy installation at home while blending in seamlessly.
Attachment compatibility: The aluminum cross bars on the roof rack feature T-slots to seamlessly mount compatible attachments such as ski racks, bike racks and cargo boxes.
Tesla says the load rating is 165 lbs for the roof rack, which has aluminum powder-coated cross bars and die-cast towers with integrated locks.
The roof rack is available for purchase in the United States, where the Model Y started delivering last month. With a roof rack now available, Model Y customers are probably now waiting for a tow hitch for their compact SUVs. A spot is open in the Model Y’s bumper for a tow hitch, but one is not available yet from Tesla.
