How to Enable Tesla Model Y Dual Climate Sync Controls
A brief but practical video posted on YouTube by Howard Feinstein gives viewers a quick walkthrough of the Model Y’s Climate Sync. As the video discusses, there have been some dilemmas about controlling the climate using the touchscreen on the vehicle. Using a clever workaround, users can implement voice commands to achieve accurate climate control.
To use the suggested trick, simply press and hold the voice command and say “turn off Climate Sync.” You will then see the change reflected on the touchscreen. With climate sync off, two separate temperatures are displayed. One represents the driver’s side and the other, the passenger’s side. This simple trick is perhaps one of the easiest ways to customize the climate.
Page 124 of the Tesla Model Y Owner’s Manual covers a range of topics related to Climate Controls. As the manual states, “To override the Auto setting, touch the fan icon, turn off the Auto setting, then manually adjust your settings (see Adjusting Climate Control Settings on page 125). If you’ve manually adjusted individual settings, you can also revert back to Auto at any time by touching AUTO on the climate control popup window.” With such guidance and user support, the Model Y maintains a user-friendly environment.
Some Tesla Model Y owners on Facebook have stated despite showing two climate controls, the temperature from both driver passenger vents are the same. Some are saying the separate controls do work after the workaround, however. Hopefully Tesla will address this in a later software update.
