Tesla Spotlights 1996 F1 Champ Damon Hill on an Austin Cybercab

1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill took a solo ride in a Tesla Cybercab in Austin, and Tesla’s official Robotaxi account shared the video on Tuesday.
The @robotaxi account quote-posted the clip with the caption “F1 World Champion tries Cybercab.” In a follow-up reply, it pointed out that Grok in the Cybercab can search for and pull up videos by voice.
In the video, the two-seat Cybercab pulls up with no one inside, greets Hill by name on its screen and sets off once he taps to start the ride. Hill notes there is no steering wheel at all, and says the car is driving with nobody steering.
Once underway, he asks Grok what happened at the US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. After a quick race summary, he asks for highlights, and Grok brings up a set of F1 videos on the center screen and plays the official one when he says yes.
Hill’s ride comes after more than 50 Cybercabs swarmed Austin around race weekend, and as Cybercabs now outnumber Model Ys in Tesla’s Texas Robotaxi fleet of 1,051 vehicles.
Would you trust a driverless Cybercab enough to sit back and watch race highlights on the way?
