Tesla has shared its first official video of the next-generation Roadster’s interface, posting a 34-second clip on X Friday afternoon with the caption “Inspired by fighter jet cockpits, Roadster’s interface was designed around the pilot.” The video walks through the car’s red-and-black touchscreen, from the home screen to a full track mode, just over a week after Tesla unveiled the new Roadster in Waco.

In the clip, the screen sits beside the Roadster’s squared-off steering wheel and shows a 3D wireframe of the car. Tapping around it brings up rear wing settings with low drag and high downforce options, a charging screen with a charge limit bar, and a music player. A menu along the bottom has Home, Vehicle, Listen, Climate and Navigate tabs.
Most of the video is spent in track mode, where the dashboard shows a live lap map, a list of session lap times, brake and motor temperatures, and tire pressures and temperatures for each corner. A setup page lets the driver choose between Auto, Low Drag, High Downforce and Custom aero modes, adjust aero balance and brake balance, and turn stability and traction control off. A bar along the bottom reads “Thruster · 5,500 PSI” with “Boost Ready” next to it.

We got our first look at this interface in event videos shared on October 16, which showed the same charging and track mode screens from the floor in Waco. Tesla’s own version is shot in 4K and shows each screen full-frame, so the labels and readouts are much easier to make out.
If you’d rather see the Roadster in person, the car goes on display in the lobby of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles from October 24 to 27, as we reported earlier today.
Would you want a track mode this detailed in your own Tesla, or is it overkill for a road car?
