Elon Musk Says Grokipedia’s 2,200 Daily Edits Will Get a New Manager

Elon Musk says SpaceXAI is handing Grokipedia, its AI-written encyclopedia, over to its own agents, writing on X on Thursday night that “we’re just going to have @Grok Bots manage Grokipedia.”
Musk posted the line at 8:19 p.m. PT, quoting a post that showed off Grokipedia’s new live edits feed and called it “an SI-maintained encyclopedia.” He didn’t add a timeline or explain what would change.
Grokipedia launched in October 2025 as Musk’s answer to Wikipedia, and version 0.3 arrived on September 30 with a new design. Its articles are generated by Grok, and readers can’t edit pages directly. Instead, they submit suggestions. The site’s homepage sums up the process in one line: “Proposed by readers, checked against sources, approved by Grok.”
Since v0.3, that process has played out in public, too. The live edits page lists each change as it lands, with the old wording struck out beside the new and a “Why” note pointing to the source. One recent fix swapped “triplex” for “four-floor” in a New York penthouse listing, citing CNBC’s description of the unit. The homepage counter showed 1,195,356 approved edits on Friday morning.
The official Grokipedia account posted fresh numbers a few hours before Musk did. One week into v0.3, it said Grok had written more than 4,400 brand-new articles from reader requests and was making more than 2,200 article edits every day.
Grok Bot is SpaceXAI’s agent product, and Musk has spent the week promoting it. It gained the ability to search, read and monitor X this week, and a minute before the Grokipedia post, Musk wrote that using it “is like hiring a super smart, hard-working person for peanuts.”
The “SI” in the quoted post stands for superintelligence, the term Musk now prefers over AI. He has said SpaceXAI will eventually become SpaceXSI.
There’s still a lot Musk left unsaid, including whether “Grok Bots” means the Grok Bot product or Grok more broadly, when the change would happen, or how it differs from Grok already approving edits today. He also didn’t say whether people will keep any review role, or whether reader suggestions will work the same way.
For now, anyone can open the live feed and watch an encyclopedia correct itself a few words at a time. Whether a team of bots can keep millions of articles accurate is something its readers will judge one suggestion at a time.
