Tesla Cybertruck FSD Crosses 3 Lanes From Red Light to Clear Ambulance Path

A Cybertruck running Tesla’s Full Self-Driving made a pretty wild move Monday morning, turning right from a full stop at a red light across three lanes of traffic to clear a path for an approaching ambulance, then rerouting itself onto a new road.
Cybertruck owner CJP the Panda, who goes by Chris, posted video of the moment, which happened while he was sitting at a red light in the middle of five lanes of traffic. His truck, nicknamed TARS, spotted an ambulance coming up from behind and, with the intersection mostly blocked, cut right across three lanes into what he called a “safe pocket,” leaving a clear lane so the emergency vehicle could keep going without having to pause.
After the ambulance got through, the truck merged and headed onto the new road, automatically updating its navigation to account for the unplanned turn. Chris, who says he has put 11,000 miles on FSD, called it the most amazing and unexpected maneuver he has seen in all that time. He described it as a deliberate decision to make room for the emergency vehicle rather than a standard roadside pull-over.
The clip quickly pulled in more than 36,000 views, and Chris tagged Tesla, Tesla AI and Elon Musk in hopes the team catches it. He also suggested it would fit right in with the FSD demonstration video Tesla plays in its Service Center waiting rooms.
Tesla has been steadily expanding how FSD handles emergency vehicles. Recent release notes for FSD 14.2.2.4 said the system can now pull over or yield for police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. Cybertruck owners have been putting the system through its paces too, including a recent European “stress test” of FSD on the truck, while Tesla keeps pushing newer FSD builds out to the Cybertruck fleet.
There’s no word yet on whether Tesla will actually feature the clip, but moments like this keep raising the bar for what drivers expect from the system. And as more of these real-world judgment calls pop up, each one hands Tesla fresh data to fine-tune how its cars behave around emergency responders.
