Elon Musk said Tuesday that high winds forced Tesla to delay its new Roadster demo by two weeks, pushing the reveal to October 15 as fresh analysis adds more support to the fan car theory.
Quoting Tesla’s September 28 announcement, Musk wrote, “Due to high winds, the new Roadster demo is postponed by 2 weeks.” Tesla’s original post said the event was rescheduled to October 15 because severe conditions were predicted and the event can only be held outdoors.
The reveal was originally set for October 1, and Tesla’s teaser image carries the text “10.01” with the words “WHERE WE’RE GOING”. Analyst seti_park took a closer look at that image and published a detailed analysis Tuesday arguing that four white plumes, when the image is turned upside down, match the layout shown in Figure 2 of Tesla’s newly granted “Electric fan car” patent.
Tesla’s fan car patent, US 12,746,987 B1, was granted September 29, 2026, and describes four electric ducted fans lined up under the rear bumper. The fans pull air from beneath the car and blow it out the back, creating downforce that does not depend on speed. The system does not require ground-scraping skirts, and the driver can switch the fans on with a button.
For now, the connection between Tesla’s teaser and the patent comes from seti_park’s analysis of the image. He argues that the four plumes lining up with the four fans shown in the patent drawing is more than a coincidence and that Tesla intended the image as a hint.
When the Roadster appears on October 15, weather permitting, attention will likely turn to what Tesla has placed under the rear bumper. A row of fans and a button to switch them on would give seti_park’s theory much more weight.
