Tesla opened its 3,000th Supercharger in Canada on Monday, a 24-stall station on Montée Ryan in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, just in time for the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend on October 12.
Tesla Charging announced the milestone Monday and shared photos of the new site, which features red pylons with maple-leaf branding. Mont-Tremblant is a popular resort town in the Laurentians that sees heavy traffic through the fall and winter, so the extra stalls are showing up right as drivers start heading north. Fall colours in the region draw big crowds from Montreal every October, and long weekends tend to be the busiest stretch of the season.
The milestone caps years of steady growth for Tesla’s charging network across the country. In Ontario, Tesla is building what would become Canada’s largest Supercharger site in Ajax, while the current largest opened in Richmond, British Columbia in 2023. Quebec has also seen continued expansion along the main travel corridors north of Montreal, with each new site helping fill in gaps and making longer road trips easier for EV owners in every season.
Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest travel periods of the fall, and a 24-stall site near a major resort should take some pressure off older, smaller stations along the Laurentian routes. The opening also comes after Tesla moved to welcome Honda and Acura EVs onto its Canadian Superchargers, which means more drivers than ever are relying on the network.
The red maple-leaf pylons are also a break from Tesla’s usual grey charging posts, and it looks like the company is giving its landmark Canadian sites a look of their own.
