Tesla is cutting the monthly price of its Cybertruck Windshield Protection Plan from $35 to $25, with the lower rate applying to the first payment on or after October 1, 2026, according to notices the company has begun sending U.S. subscribers.
Coverage itself is unchanged. The plan still covers unlimited chip and minor crack repairs on the front windshield, one full glass replacement every 12 months at no extra charge, and a $100 deductible for any additional replacements in the same year. Service uses Tesla glass and camera calibration, which matters because Autopilot and Full Self-Driving cameras sit behind that glass. Collision, vandalism, and weather damage remain excluded, and there is no long-term contract.
The $10 monthly cut trims the annual bill from $420 to $300, a $120 saving for owners who keep the subscription through the year. Tesla has not publicly explained the change. The timing lines up with roughly a year of claims data after the pickup joined the windshield plan at $35 a month in August 2025, while Model 3 and Model Y glass coverage sat lower.

On the same October 1 date, Tesla is raising some Wheel and Tire Protection Plan rates. Subscriber notices show Model 3 Performance moving from $16 to $24 a month and Model Y Performance from $20 to $24, bringing both Performance trims to the same price. Standard Cybertruck wheel-and-tire coverage has been listed at $20 a month; Tesla has not published a full updated price sheet for every model in the latest notices.
Owners manage both plans in the Tesla app under Upgrades, then Service Plans. Passenger-car windshield rates called out in the Cybertruck notice, including $16 a month for Model 3 and Model Y after an earlier hike, are unchanged in that drop. The October cut is the first time Tesla has moved the Cybertruck windshield subscription down after raising Model 3 and Model Y glass plans into 2026.
Whether more owners keep the glass plan at $25, or whether the wheel-and-tire hikes push Performance drivers to cancel, will show up in the app after October 1. For now the numbers are clear: cheaper Cybertruck windshield coverage, pricier Performance tire protection, and the same benefits Tesla already sold.
