Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software will eventually learn from driver behavior to customize the ride.
The announcement came after Tesla owner Omar shared a common frustration on X. He complained that the vehicle frequently exits carpool or express lanes on its own, leaving the car stuck in heavy traffic while other drivers speed past in the far left lane.
Omar asked the automaker to respect the navigation settings chosen by the driver.
Musk responded directly to the complaint, stating that the vehicle will start to remember specific driver interventions and match each person’s individual preferences.
The update could solve long-standing complaints about the software being too aggressive or too passive in specific traffic conditions. By tracking when a driver overrides the system, the vehicle could adjust its lane choices and driving style to better match what the owner expects.
Tesla has not yet provided a specific timeline for when this personalized learning feature will roll out to vehicles.
