Tesla FSD Fleet Hits Massive 12 Billion Mile Milestone as Training Speeds Up

Tesla vehicles running Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software have officially driven more than 12 billion cumulative miles globally. The milestone comes just a little over a month after the fleet surpassed the 11 billion mile mark on June 9, showing a rapid acceleration in data collection.

According to community tracking data and updates shared on X, the global fleet is currently adding roughly 26 to 30 million miles every single day. Out of the 12 billion total miles driven since the software launched, more than 4.5 billion miles have been clocked specifically on complex city streets. Looking at these massive numbers, it is clear that the sheer volume of real-world driving gives the automaker a significant data advantage for training its artificial intelligence systems.

The milestone follows growing international momentum for the semi-autonomous software. European drivers have contributed significantly to the data pool, logging more than 50 million kilometres across five countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark.

Expansion plans are also moving forward in other major European markets. The German Federal Ministry of Transport recently confirmed that the country’s Federal Motor Transport Authority, known as the KBA, is expected to receive a test vehicle this month to begin independent trials of the system on local roads.
