Tesla Next-Gen Roadster Demo Reportedly Delayed Until August
Tesla has pushed back the highly anticipated public demonstration of its next-generation Roadster, according to a new report from The Information. Initially expected to take place in late June, the live showcase is now rumoured to be delayed until August or potentially even later.
The delay allegedly stems from the ongoing development and integration of the vehicle’s unique SpaceX-inspired thruster system. The upcoming presentation is expected to highlight a limited-edition SpaceX package featuring “A71” cold gas thrusters. Borrowed from Falcon 9 rocket technology, these thrusters are intended to give the electric supercar a zero-to-60 mph acceleration time of under one second and even allow it to execute brief hops off the ground.
While the base model of the next-generation Roadster promises an impressive top speed exceeding 250 mph and a driving range of over 620 miles, it is the sci-fi thruster package that continues to dominate discussions. Elon Musk previously hyped the next Roadster demo as something insane and will blow your mind.
Tesla has not officially confirmed the schedule shift, leaving the August timeline as an unverified rumour for now. The first new Roadster prototype debuted back in 2017.
