Can Tesla FSD Drive Itself Across All of Canada? This Team Is About to Find Out

A Vancouver-based content creator is preparing to attempt a cross-country drive across Canada relying entirely on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology in a new Model 3.

Devin Olsen, alongside team members David Moss and @scotsrule08, announced they will depart from the Vancouver area this Sunday, May 24, with the goal of reaching the Atlantic coast using FSD version 14.3.3. Moss made headlines in the states by driving with FSD and having no interventions for thousands of miles.

The team plans to document the entire journey through live streams and updates. While they have not finalized their specific route, they intend to avoid major metropolitan areas like Toronto to focus on the long-distance trek across the country. Olsen emphasized that they are taking steps to ensure the integrity of the attempt, including keeping a camera rolling for the duration of the trip to provide evidence of the vehicle’s performance.

The group is currently mapping out charging logistics, as the availability of Superchargers can become less predictable in parts of Eastern Canada. This project aims to demonstrate the current capabilities of Tesla’s autonomous driving software in diverse Canadian driving conditions.

A similar FSD coast-to-coast ‘Cannonball’ run was performed in the US, which used FSD that went from L.A. to NYC without any interventions.
