Tesla Giga Berlin Reaches 750,000 Cars and Is Already Pushing for More
Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg has officially produced 750,000 vehicles since its opening in March 2022. The factory, located in Grünheide, Germany, reached this milestone primarily through the assembly of the Model Y SUV.
The facility is currently operating at a high level of technical scale. To reach this point, the plant has melted 95,000 tons of aluminium and utilised 800 robots to perform over 2 billion welding spots. The production process also includes a sustainable paint shop that features full water recycling and the stamping of 10 million individual parts.

Tesla manufacturing lead André Thierig noted that the factory is now aiming for its first million cars. To accelerate this goal, Giga Berlin is scaling its production capacity by 20%. This expansion involves hiring new staff and adding shifts to build on a record-breaking first quarter in 2026, which saw over 61,000 vehicles produced.
In a modern twist to the delivery process, newly completed Model Ys are now using Full Self-Driving technology to drive themselves autonomously out of the factory doors to the holding lots, which is what we’re already seeing at Giga Texas. Tesla is actively recruiting to support this latest increase in volume.
