Tesla to End One-Time Full Self-Driving Purchases in Europe This Month

Tesla Model Y Black Headliner FSD Supervised

Tesla is overhauling how customers in Europe and the United Kingdom access its premium driver-assistance features. Notices appearing on the company’s vehicle configurator sites in Germany, France, Italy, and the UK reveal that the option to purchase Full Self-Driving (FSD) or Enhanced Autopilot for a single flat fee is coming to an end.

Most European customers have until May 21, 2026, to place an order with a one-time payment, provided they take delivery of the vehicle by June 30. In the Netherlands, where regulatory approvals moved faster, the deadline is even tighter, ending on May 15.

After these dates, Tesla will transition both FSD and Enhanced Autopilot to a monthly subscription model. While official pricing for every region has not been finalized, current data from the Netherlands suggests the subscription will cost approximately €99 per month. In the UK, the current one-time price for FSD is £6,800, but it is expected to shift to a monthly fee of roughly £89.

This strategy mirrors Tesla’s approach in North America, where the company has increasingly pushed subscriptions ($99 per month in Canada and the US) to lower the entry cost for software features. Industry analysts suggest the timing of this change indicates that Tesla expects broader regulatory approval for FSD Supervised across the European Union in the coming months.
