Tesla Opens East Coast’s First True 500 kW Supercharger in Florida

Tesla has officially switched on its first “true” V4 Supercharger on the East Coast, located in Kissimmee, Florida (8085 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy), just south of Orlando, with 8 stalls available at the site. While Tesla has been installing V4 stalls for some time, this new site is the first in the region to be paired with the upgraded V4 power cabinets, unlocking massive charging speeds for high-voltage vehicles.

The new station features eight stalls capable of delivering up to 500 kW of power. This is a significant jump for owners of vehicles with 800V architectures, such as the Cybertruck, which can now charge up to 30% faster than at older V3 stations. These next-gen cabinets are also more efficient, supporting up to eight stalls per unit and future-proofing the network for the Tesla Semi.

Pricing at the Kissimmee location is tiered to favor Tesla owners, who pay $0.40 per kWh during peak hours and $0.20 per kWh off-peak. Non-Tesla EV drivers are charged a premium, with rates sitting at $0.56 per kWh during peak times and $0.28 per kWh off-peak.

The Florida opening follows similar “true” V4 launches in Redwood City, California; Taylorsville, Utah; and Nashville, Tennessee. As Tesla transitions its Giga New York factory to produce only V4 cabinets, these high-speed hubs are expected to become the new standard across North America.

With V4 Superchargers now appearing at major travel destinations like Yosemite’s Tenaya Lodge and now Florida’s tourism hub, the range anxiety debate is rapidly shifting toward a focus on peak performance.
