SpaceX has just slashed the price of its portable Starlink Mini dish to a new all-time low, making it significantly more accessible for users looking to take satellite internet on the road.
According to a new report from PCMag, the Starlink Mini is now priced at $199 in the U.S., down 20% from its usual $249 price and a massive 67% reduction from the $599 price tag it debuted with. The new price quietly went live on Starlink.com and is also available through select retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart, and West Marine.
The $199 price point undercuts the previous lowest deal SpaceX had offered on the Mini, which was $229 in the U.S. and $299 in Canada back in November. Canadian pricing has dropped to $279 CAD with this latest promotion. It’s another aggressive move from SpaceX as it continues to drive adoption of its compact, travel-friendly satellite dish.
The Mini dish is tied to Starlink’s Roam service plan, which is required to use the portable dish in the U.S. Roam plans start at $50 per month for 100GB of high-speed data, following a recent free upgrade from the previous 50GB cap. Unlimited Roam data is also available for $165 per month. SpaceX does charge $20 for shipping when ordering directly, while retailers may offer faster delivery or in-store pickup at no extra cost.
Interestingly, the price cut comes as Starlink is also offering the Mini dish through a “free” rental program tied to its recently rebranded Residential Max plan. Both new and existing subscribers can qualify, though demand for the Residential Max plan has reportedly been so strong that it’s causing a hardware shortage. The catch with the free Mini is that users must return it if they cancel or change their service, or else they’ll be charged for the hardware.
With Starlink continuing to expand globally and doubling its user base to 9.2 million in 2025 alone, the lower Mini price makes it an even more compelling option for RV owners, remote workers, and travelers who want reliable internet far from traditional networks.
